Company for older people in your neighbourhood
Going to the doctor with someone beside you, a stroll to the park or doing a few errands together can make an older person’s day, and for someone living on the same street it costs an hour. On Mutioo, you or someone in your family posts a favour asking for company, and neighbours in the area with a verified identity offer to help.

Examples of this kind of favour
- Going along to a medical appointment and waiting in the waiting room together.
- A short walk around the neighbourhood or to the park.
- Doing the shopping together or collecting something from the pharmacy.
- Helping carry the bags up and put things away.
- A game of cards or a chat at home.
How to ask
When you post, make it clear what the person needs: going slowly, leaning on an arm, climbing stairs or not. For older people the favour is marked as sensitive and can’t be unmarked, so only neighbours with a verified identity will be able to offer.
Post the favour
Pick the category, say what you need, where and when, and whether you’re offering money or a favour in return.
Choose your neighbour
Neighbours in your area offer to help. You look at their profile and reviews, talk in the chat and choose.
Done, and then it’s paid
The money waits, held safely, until you confirm the favour is done; if you don’t reply within 7 days, it’s released automatically. If you open an issue, it isn’t released.
What to agree on
- Pick-up time, meeting point and how long it will take, with some slack in case the doctor runs late.
- What the person needs to be comfortable: pace, support, whether they use a stick or a chair.
- Who tells the family, and how, on arrival and when they’re back home.
- What to do if something unexpected happens: a family contact number.
Mutioo is an intermediary: it puts neighbours in touch, but it doesn’t do the favours or vouch for anyone’s conduct. The agreement is between whoever asks and whoever helps.
Trust
Older people is a sensitive category: only neighbours with a verified identity will be able to offer and, when it’s done, you’ll give them a PIN in person; without it, the favour doesn’t close. Mutioo is company and everyday help between neighbours: it isn’t professional care or healthcare, and it doesn’t replace a carer. If a relative posts the favour, they’re the one who sees the PIN: they should pass it on to the older person or be there at the end, so it can be given to the neighbour in person.
Frequently asked questions
Can they look after my mother or father?
Not as professional care. Mutioo is for company and everyday help between neighbours (keeping someone company, walking, running an errand). If your relative needs care or medical assistance, you need specialist services.
Who can offer?
Only neighbours with an identity verified with a document and a selfie (Stripe does the check), because it’s a sensitive favour. On their profile you see the badge and the reviews, and who you choose is up to you.
What is the PIN?
When you accept an offer on a sensitive favour you’ll see a PIN. You give it to the neighbour in person when it’s finished and, without it, the favour doesn’t close. If a relative posted the favour, they’re the one who sees the PIN: they should pass it on to the older person or be there at the end.
What if something isn’t going well during the favour?
You can stop, talk about it in the chat and tell us what happened from the favour. While we look into it, the money isn’t handed over to the neighbour.
