A hand with your party or event
A birthday party, a block lunch or a dinner with friends mean work before and after: setting up tables, blowing up balloons, bringing down chairs and getting the room ready. On Mutioo you ask a neighbour in your area for that hand, for money or in exchange for another favour.
Creating an account is free.
Examples of this kind of favour
- Setting up tables and chairs and decorating the room or courtyard.
- Helping serve during a small celebration.
- Taking photos for an hour, as an amateur.
- Welcoming guests and looking after coats and presents.
- Helping organise a neighbours’ party or a staircase lunch.
How to ask
Say what kind of event it is, the date, the start and end times, how many guests there will be and exactly what needs doing. If it’s in a communal area or a venue, check beforehand whether you need permission: Mutioo doesn’t organise events or handle permits. The sooner you post the favour, the more time neighbours will have to fit it in; if you need help on a specific date, put it in the title. If some guests have allergies or particular needs, let people know before the day. Say too whether you want help before the party, during it or both, so neighbours know how much time to set aside.
Post the favour
Pick the category, say what you need, where and when, and whether you’re offering money or a favour in return.
Choose your neighbour
Neighbours in your area offer to help. You look at their profile and reviews, talk in the chat and choose.
Done, and then it’s paid
The money waits, held safely, until you confirm the favour is done; if you don’t reply within 7 days, it’s released automatically. If you open an issue, it isn’t released.
What to agree on
- Exact arrival and finishing times, and whether the helper gets a break or food.
- Which tasks are included and which aren’t: setting up, decorating, serving.
- Who provides the materials: decorations, tables, chairs, crockery.
- What happens if something gets broken or lost during the party.
What to offer
A rough example: two hours of help setting up the room might come to between €15 and €25. Each neighbour decides what to ask.
This is only a rough example to get the conversation started: each neighbour decides, it’s not a Mutioo rate or a market price, and you two set it. Mutioo Protection is paid by whoever asks: at most 10% of the price (€0.79 on small favours), and less on favours over €25. You see the exact amount before paying. Whoever helps pays no fee: they receive 100% of the price.
Mutioo is an intermediary: it puts neighbours in touch, but it doesn’t do the favours or vouch for anyone’s conduct. The agreement is between whoever asks and whoever helps.
Frequently asked questions
Can I hire a waiter for my event?
For an event with professional service, a professional is the right choice. Mutioo is for one-off help between neighbours, not for services on a regular basis.
Where can I hold the party?
Wherever is appropriate: your home, a communal area if the residents’ association allows it or a venue. Mutioo doesn’t organise events or handle permits.
Can I pay with another favour?
Yes. When you post you choose whether to offer money, a favour in return or both, and you agree the details in the chat.
